Let’s Calm Together! #3652calm

From the moment I conceived the idea for this blog, my goal has been to provide a safe and comforting space for myself and others. I envisioned a way of living that could support my nervous system in times of stress. I believe I arrived in this world as someone who alchemizes outer stress into inner turmoil… in one word, a worrier.

I think the world needs people like me who bring a different quality of empathy to the world. Trying to eradicate the part of me who dislikes conflict, who wishes for all sides to be heard, acknowledged and consoled - that wouldn’t be the solution. What I really need to focus on is a way to channel this type of agitated energy into action rather than allowing it to take root inside of me.

Recognizing that the world we are living in is rapidly changing is fuel for my personal brand of fire. Creating Calm Beneath has been a salve for the tender places inside me that need special care and tending. I also know I am not alone. Studies confirm that cases of reported anxiety and depression are at an all time high.

The good news for me and others like me is that there is a plethora of things we can actively do to cultivate better habits which will support our well being. Through this site and my socials, I try to bring to light some of the topics and modalities including some of the science behind them.

Calm Beneath is about bringing all this knowledge and wisdom to light. I like to think of myself as a curator of all things Calm! We need to spread this information around so that more people can be empowered, and so we can be strong for ourselves and our loved ones.

To this end, I am doing a daily series on social media called Path to Calm. It is 365 days to calm using the hashtag #3652calm. I’m sharing all my learnings, including links to studies, videos and online material to supplement the topic. The goal is to arrive at the end of 2024, feeling resilient and able to weather the storm, to hold firm boundaries to attune my intuition, to emanate balanced energy for those around me, and to generally feel resilient and strong. If this is something that appeals to you, or if you know someone it could help, please join me and invite them as well! I am looking forward to taking this journey with you as we sail into 2024.
